Congressman John Ashbrook

Recently, a great American Patriot, statesman and Knight in the order of St. John was laid to rest. The following is a message that was sent to Congressman Ashbrook's wife at the time of his passing:

"John Ashbrook was a man of courage and principal. He served his constituents and his country with dedication and devotion always working towards the betterment of his fellow man. His patriotism and belief in the greatness of America never wavered in his articulate and passionate calls for a return to old-fashioned American values earned him the respective all who knew him. I value John Ashbrook's friendship and will miss his wise counsel".

/s/ Ronald Reagan.

I would like to respectfully request anyone reading this column to please say a silent prayer for the soul of this great and outstanding statesman.

Falkland (Malvania ) Islands

Why all the problems over the Falkland Islands?

Perhaps what is been reported in Spotlight newspaper printed in Washington D.C. could explain it. In 1978 the CIA sent the ship "Glomar Explorer" with oil drilling equipment and instruments to detect mineral deposits under the sea. If found that there is (something like) 9 times as much oil and natural gas off the Falkland Islands as in the all of the North Sea. This means there is considerably more oil and natural gas in the economic zone of the Falkland Islands than in all of the Middle East. They go on to say that a 450 page British report told of the "food potential" of the Falkland Islands: just one species of fish... the blue whiting... that abounds in the Falkland waters... could enable British fishermen to match Britain's total fish hall from the North Sea and the North Atlantic combined and the Antarctica krill (small shrimp -- like creatures) could yield in annual catch that would exceed all of the seafood currently brought in by all of the fishing fleets in the world.

The movies

During the movie, "Power" starring Joe Don Baker, which was recently aired on television, a beautiful female lawyer mentions to the star of the movie (Baker, who plays the union leader) that unions in the United States are gaining significant power. She mentions the Jewish Reuther Brothers as an example for him to follow.

I would like to quote the following which was referred to as "The Reuther memorandum to the Attorney General".

Walter and Victor Reuther called on Attorney General Robert Kennedy in the fall of 1961 and laid out in oral plan on how to destroy the conservative rebellion within the United States. Robert Kennedy requested that the plan be submitted to him in writing. On December 19, 1961 a 24 page memorandum was given to the Attorney General and a writer was identified as Victor Reuther. The memorandum, which was distributed to all high Kennedy administration officials and to "certain sympathetic Senators and Congressman" contains five major courses of action which should be initiated by the Attorney General.

1. Muzzle the military and stop the recall to active duty of conservatives such as General James VanFleet by having the Secretary of Defense issue orders against speeches or articles opposing communism.

2. Stop listing pro-communist organizations exclusively as "subversive" on the annual Attorney General's list and add the names of conservative organizations so that the list would not be "lopsided". This would cause the membership of the conservative organizations to drop out as they would not want to be associated with a "subversive organization on the Attorney General's list.". This would then effectively bring about the end of the organization.

3. Stop the flow of funds to the conservative organizations by having the Internal Revenue Service investigate all tax-exempt conservative religious and educational organizations and find some pretext for removing tax exemption.

4. Use the power on the Federal Communications Commission to investigate radio and television stations carrying conservative programs and see if such stations are violating FCC regulations.

5. Curb the activities of J. Edgar Hoover who " exaggerates the domestic communist menace at every turn and contributes to the public's frame of mind". Hoover was charged in the memo with "fifteen years of over-stating a problem".

At least four of these proposals were in effect by September 1963.
